How Can CR Help Me?
(A personal testimony of a CR Member)
I searched for happiness in all the wrong places, and always thought money, jobs, men, and material things would bring me that happiness. I was a people pleaser, not a God pleaser. I lived a life of self-doubt, partying and relationships. I made wrong choices with my relationships, finances, and many other things. I saw therapists, took medication, and thought I would never be good enough for anyone, including God. I never asked Him to help me. Why would God want to use me?
I have a relationship with God. I have a song in my heart. Joy I never knew existed. I am learning who I am in Christ. I love who I am. I’m getting healed form the inside out because I’m dealing with my own issues, and not everyone else’s issues. I am accepted just as I am. I have wonderful friends in Christ. No more denial. I am who God made me to be, and I am finally realizing God’s purpose for my life. He can use even the weak to help others!
“My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.”
(2 Corinthians 12:19)
But, I’m in Another Recovery Program!
If you are currently involved in another recovery program, don’t stop. We would love to be your recovery meeting on Friday nights. Celebrate Recovery is different only because we chose to recognize Jesus Christ as the one and only higher power. He is the ultimate source of recovery.
